On the 14 th and 15 th October it’s the 5 th day of ‘alternative leisure’ in Torrevieja.
Held at the Sports Palace, ‘ComarCon 2017’ is an opportunity for all those
who are video game enthusiasts, love comic books, table games, animations,
manga and make other unusual collections to come along and indulge
themselves for a few hours.
According to councillor Victor Ferrández, organiser of this event, there are
three principles to the day. There’s free entrance, a huge variety of activities
and participation and promotion of many different associations, including that
of the University of Alicante.
The event will be open to the public from 10am to 9pm without any breaks
during the day. There will be workshops and talks related to the hobbies on
show and the world of comic books. Retro video games will be on display
dating back thirty years and there will be opportunity for participants to take
part in various contests.
The Vice President of the Comarca Association, Alexandro Sesma, claims the
event to be one of the largest ‘free entry’ alternative leisure opportunities
throughout Spain. ‘More than 4,000 people attended the last two events,’
explains Sesma, ‘It’s accessible to everyone and is an opportunity to enjoy the
oriental culture, share leisure interests and enjoy.’
This event does not just appeal to those living locally. Comic book, table top
enthusiasts and video game fanatics will be coming to the event from all over
