Local Police clamp down on Coronavirus rule breakers

The Local Police across Orihuela have issued fines to a total of 100 people for not wearing a mask over recent days and officers have also served three leisure venues with a notice of closure for non-compliance with regulations, security measures and protection regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ramón López, Councillor for Citizen Security, stressed that “after the mandatory use of face masks, our officers have spent time simply informing the population about the rules. However, we have already announced that from last weekend security controls by Local Police would be intensified and people need to be aware that fines are being issued for those found without a mask.”
The Councillor added that “we must be responsible and aware of the importance of compliance with security measures, and understand that masks are necessary to protect ourselves and others. We must all be responsible and avoid possible outbreaks, it is important to comply with all the regulations.”
