Torrevieja International Festival of Music Bands

The Councillor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, along with the president of the Musical Society of Torrevieja “Los Saleroso”, Guillermo Hernández, and festival organiser, Naiara Díaz de Mendivil, have presented the XVIII International Festival of Music Bands “Ciudad de Torrevieja”, which will take place on 21st to 23rd August at the Eras de la Sal, starting at 10pm.
The festival will begin with the host band, the Sociedad Musical Ciudad de Torrevieja “Los Saleroso”, on 21st August, performing under the baton of its new director, Manuel García García. On the 22nd August it will be the turn of the San Sebastián Musical Association (Padua, Granada), directed by Víctor Manuel Ferrer Castillo. The Big Band “Los Gavilanes” (Alicante) will be in charge of closing the XVIII Festival, under the direction of Ángel Fernández Ivorra.
The performances will have two parts, a first in which classical works will feature and a second half in which songs of all kinds will be performed, from blues to reggaeton. As Naiara Díaz de Mendivil said “songs from yesterday, today and forever will be performed”.
The councillor for Culture and the president of the Salereos, reported that the hygienic-sanitary measures will be carried out during the band festival and they will be the same as during the 66th edition of the International Competition of Habaneras and Polyphony. Members of the audience will have their temperature taken at the entrance to the venue, hydroalheticsic gel will be available to all attendees, and it will be necessary to wear a mask throughout the show. The capacity for this event will be 400 seats, all of them keeping the safety distance between seats as required.
Tickets went on sale last week and can be purchased from Monday to Friday, between 6pm to 9pm in the afternoon from the box office of the Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja. The ticket price is € 5 for each of the days.
