‘Let’s grab some tapas’ is the title given to the latest ‘tapas route’ in Torrevieja which takes place this coming weekend. The first instalment has already happened (from September 17th to 20th) but don’t worry if you missed it, as you have another opportunity to enjoy the event. From September 24th to 27th, a tapas trail is on offer from a number of participating restaurants, bars and cafes in the town. With a tapa and a drink for just €2.50, the event offers an affordable way to try out new and exciting venues with both traditional and ‘innovative’ tapas on the menu.
The initiative, now in its 5th year, is organised by the Association of Hospitality Companies of Torrevieja y Comarca. The hugely popular event is always a draw for tourists but under the current circumstances, many participating restaurants are hoping for support from the local community. All of the establishments participating in the event have committed to ensuring the Covid-19 safety protocols are in place so that diners can enjoy the event with peace of mind.
Participants can once again vote for their favourite tapa and by voting, will be entered into a prize draw to win a number of meals for two.
The special tapas menus are available from participating restaurants from September 24th to 27th (from Thursday to Sunday) from 12 noon to 4.30pm and from 7pm to 11pm.
There are a number of exciting tapas on offer and each restaurant seems to have played to its own strengths – for example, Mat’s Burger in Torrevieja offers mini burger based tapas (including the mysterious ‘Brexit Burger’) while Restaurante El Pescador offers two intriguing seafood options.
