Bake off cook book

The Great British Bake Off sees a group of amateur bakers compete against each other in a series of rounds, attempting to impress a group of judges with their baking skills. One contestant is eliminated in each round, and the winner is selected from the contestants who reach the finals. The first episode was aired on 17 August 2010, with its first four series broadcast on BBC Two, until its growing popularity led the BBC to move it to BBC One for the next three series.
Since its launch the series has become a ´must watch’ for millions of people round the world and is currently in full swing. So now is the perfect time to get baking in your own kitchen too! Luckily for you, the team behind Channel 4’s hit reality competition have released a collection of the best recipes from the show, with cakes to fit all levels of bakers.
The Big Book of Amazing Cakes features everything from “simple sponges to spectacular celebration cakes”, so you can enjoy each Bake Off Tuesday with a treat of your own.
And right now, The Big Book of Amazing Cakes is on sale for 24 percent off the list price via Amazon UK, available for just £15.19.
The current season of Bake Off has already kicked off in controversial fashion, with the infamous #CakeGate disaster in Week 1 and a divisive elimination the following week.
And during Bread Week, there was as much innuendo about sausages as there was bread-making chatter.
This series was produced with unprecedented social distancing conditions, as the production team, presenters, judges and bakers made the “mammoth sacrifice” to isolate for the entire length of the series.
“It was a massive operation, we even [built] 12 practice kitchens for the bakers to use on their days off,” producer Kieran Smith told Broadcast, with Letty Kavanagh adding, “It felt like the safest place in Britain.”
Even with extreme precautions, Smith confirmed that a COVID-19 scare on set nearly shut down production until the person tested negative for the virus.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4. In the US, it’s known as The Great British Baking Show, with new episodes debuting every Friday on Netflix.
