Police and Guardia Civil treated for smoke inhalation

A fire broke out in Torrevieja on Sunday morning, prompting a six storey building on Calle Molinos to be evacuated. The fire broke out just after 5.30am on the first floor of the building and huge flames could be seen belching from the balcony. Several police officers had to be treated for smoke inhalation and the owner of the property was treated for an anxiety attack.
Crews from Torrevieja and Almoradí worked on putting out the fire. The fire department reported that the fire was brought under control at 6.09 and extinguished at 7.30am.
