Double donation delight for orphanage

The San Jose Obrero orphanage received two significant donations this week, just in time for Christmas. On Monday, director of the orphanage Vicente visited The New Salon in San Luis to take delivery of a huge selection of gifts. Salon owner Dawn Gibson told the Costa Blanca People, “I was very excited and impressed by the generosity of the public and want to thank my clients especially for their contributions to the appeal. This is the first time we’ve done a collection like this and I’m overwhelmed with how generous people have been. We have toys, gifts, warm clothing, books, games and more.”
On Tuesday, it was the turn of the staff and students of Willow International School and TKOfm. The school had been running a Christmas Gift Appeal with the support of TKOfm and the Costa Blanca People. Staff and students visited the orphanage on Tuesday to deliver gifts and a donation of €750. Principal Amanda Riding said, “We delivered around 80 gifts which is brilliant – we wanted no child to be without a gift this Christmas and our students’ families and all the listeners of TKO, and clients of our other drop off points have been really generous. It was very emotional visiting the facility and delivering the gifts and it’s an experience I was delighted to be able to share with some of our students because I think it is something they will remember having been involved in.”
