Excitement is building as the much-anticipated sixth edition of Rock Against Cancer,
charitable music festival, gears up to take place on 8 th and 9 th September. The event
aims to raise funds for Afecancer and Alicante Para la Lucha Contra el Cáncer
Torrevieja, local organisations dedicated to the fight against cancer. This year's festival
will be held at the picturesque Antonio Soria Park in Torrevieja, adjacent to the
fairgrounds and Friday market.
The festival kicks off on Friday, 8 th September at 5pm, promising an unforgettable
musical experience. The opening act, The Liverpool Band, a tribute to The Beatles, will
set the tone, followed by the electrifying tunes of Midnight Riders, a Bon Jovi tribute
band. The night will continue with the much-anticipated return of Denmark's Bryan
Adams Tribute Band, renowned for their captivating showmanship. Then the spotlight
will turn to The Boss – Tribute to Springsteen, all the way from Denmark, accompanied
by his "Street Band" for a powerful performance to end the night.
Saturday, 9 th September, will kick off at 11am with a motorbike and hot rod show and
bands such as The Hellhates, Finn Lizzy, and Luis Blacknight will take to the stage.
That evening sees diverse lineup including Astrosonic at pm followed by the explosive
Almost AC/DC from Denmark at 7pm. A major highlight of the festival will be the
Spanish debut of SAD Metallica Tribute Band, an Italian ensemble renowned for their
authentic renditions of Metallica classics. Closing out the night at midnight will be the
dynamic Linkoln Park – Tribute to Linkin Park, a Madrid-based band known for their
energetic and high-quality performances.
A key highlight of Rock Against Cancer is its commitment to keeping festival prices
reasonable. Attendees can enjoy these remarkable musicians, along with a variety of
food trucks and refreshing beverages with organisers emphasising that food and drink
prices will remain affordable, in contrast to many other festivals. The diverse range of
culinary offerings includes Argentinian barbecue, signature burgers, roast chicken,
healthy poke, Latin cuisine, hot dogs, and even Thai food. The festival is also
accommodating to vegetarian and vegan preferences.
This year, a new payment system will be introduced, allowing card payments directly
at the bar for drinks and corresponding glasses. Cash transactions can be made at a
designated booth for drink tickets.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased in person at various locations in Torrevieja or
online through Entradium. Admission is free for children under 12 accompanied by an
adult. Adult tickets are priced at 20€ for one day and 35€ for both days, with a 5€
increase for gate purchases.
