Children at Willow International Academy in Quesada collected a large quantity of non perishable food as part of the school’s Harvest Festival. The food will be donated to the local food bank which assists families in need in the area.
Principal Amanda Riding said, “We had a great Halloween and Harvest themed day before we broke up for half term. Primary students made slime and potions, whilst secondary drama students staged a Halloween themed room for primary students to play. I’d like to thank all of our parents and staff for your generous donations, we have collected a brilliant amount of food for people in need and I’ll be so proud to donate it on behalf of all of our students.”
At Willow, as well as the British curriculum, the school is also keen to develop the ‘whole child’ with a series of extracurricular activities such as this to ensure the children not only leave Willow with an international qualification, but also a social conscience and an awareness of the importance of being a good citizen.
