Antonio Sánchez, councillor for the beaches of Orihuela Costa, has reported that a new service is being provided from now until 15th September, to keep beach-goers informed on the state of the sea, swimming conditions, the temperature, direction and intensity of the wind and the UV index.
This service is being provided by Meteorihuela. Its director, Pedro José Gómez Cáscales, said that “it is a pleasure to offer this service to the local population and visitors alike. We are providing highly in demanded information to allow people to safely access the beach and sea. The service has been designed to facilitate the safe use of the local seashore with the hope the information will help more people enjoy their time on the beach by knowing the weather and maritime conditions in advance.”
Councillor Sánchez explained that “the forecasts will be published on the social networks of Playas de Orihuela (Facebook and Instagram) and Meteorihuela every Monday and Friday of each week, and will be supplemented every day with the part provided by Ambumar, the company in charge of the rescue and lifeguard service for the beaches of Orihuela.”
“With this new service we continue to support and promote our 11 beaches, with their 11 Blue Flags and 11 Qualitur Flags, as safe and quality tourist destinations,” added the councillor.
