Officers of the Guardia Civil helped two children aged 11 and 4 years of age, who were lost on a road in Almoradí. It is believed that the youngsters drifted away while playing in a park near to the house of relatives where they were staying on holiday.
As the children did not speak Spanish, the officers decided to stop several drivers until one could act as an interpreter, to find out what was wrong with them and why they were wondering the streets. The officers put them in their police car and drove around the local area, trying to spot places that they recognised, until they found their family.
The events took place around 7:00pm on a Saturday evening when two officers from the Headquarters of the Civil Guard of Almoradí were surprised to see two children, an 11-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, running along the CV-912 regional road which links the towns of Almoradí and Rafal.
When they stopped to ask if the pair needed help, the children, between sobs, tried to explain their situation, but they only spoke Arabic, so it was impossible for the officers to understand what their situation was.
The patrol decided to stop all the vehicles that passed on that road, until they found someone who spoke the same language. One of the drivers was able to act as an interpreter and explained that the minors had gotten lost while playing in a park near the house of some relatives.
The problem was that they were completely unaware of where that house was, because they had only arrived there on holiday a few days ago. With this information, the Civil Guard officers decided to drive around with the children to see if anything looked familiar. A short time later, in the district of El Saladar, they found a large group of people combing the are4a. These turned out to be the children’s relatives, who were out looking for them.
