Christmas is less than one month away and we’re beyond ready to drink litres and litres of Baileys (responsibly of course) for the foreseeable future. But there’s only one problem. That would cost us a fortune.
So, the next best thing is, of course, to make it yourself and the internet and social media sites have been teeming with recipes. Luckily, with just a few simple ingredients, you will be well on your way to making the most delicious Baileys you’ve ever had…or so it is claimed.
Here’s what you need:
Half a bottle of whisky
6 eggs
Tin of condensed milk
Tin of evaporated milk
1 tsp of vanilla essence
1 tsp coffee or 1 tbsp of hot chocolate powder
And it couldn’t be easier to make. Simply place all the ingredients in a blender, give them a whiz, chill in the fridge and serve over ice. Et voila! homemade Baileys for days.
You may find that your homemade bottles don’t last very long, but it will keep for at least a week in the fridge.
If you fancy switching things up, you can swap the vanilla essence with orange essence if you wish, and you can also pick between coffee and hot chocolate powder.
